AMMAN — Justice Minister Bassam Talhouni on Tuesday announced the launch of a “remote trial” project to be adopted in July, as stipulated in the Criminal Procedure Law and its amendments.
The law stipulates that the prosecutor general or the court has the right to use modern technologies in conducting investigations and trials without affecting the right to discussion, Talhouni said in an interview with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army radio station.
He added that these modern means can be used for holding a trial session for inmates remotely from rehabilitation centres as stipulated in a special by-law, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
