AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Tuesday announced that the two Jordanian citizens Musab Dajjah and Khalifah Al Anouz have been freed by Israeli authorities and handed over to Jordan.
Ministry Spokesperson Daifallah Fayez, in a statement, said that following intensive follow up and several contacts by the ministry and related institutions, Israeli authorities decided to drop all charges against the two Jordanian citizens, ending detention measures and freeing them, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The ministry and Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv have followed up on the issue since the detention of Dajjah and Anouz, Fayez said, adding that the embassy staff had visited them to check on their conditions.
The daily efforts have led to their release, he said.
The statement added that the ministry via the embassy in Tel Aviv over the past days followed up with the Israeli authorities on the release procedures of Abdullah Abu Jaber, who arrived the Kingdom on Tuesday.
Following up on the affairs of Jordanians abroad, including the prisoners and detainees, is a top priority for the ministry, the spokesperson said, noting that all possible support is provided for them, Petra, reported.
