578,206 families applied to benefit from National Aid Fund programmes

AMMAN — A total of 578,206 families have applied to benefit from the government support programmes Takaful 1 and Takaful 3, National Aid Fund (NAF) Director General Omar Mashaqbeh said on Saturday.
Mashaqbeh told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that a total of 303,221 households have electronically applied to Takaful 3 that targets families whose incomes have been affected by the COVID-19, where 100,000 households will receive cash assistance for six months in the first phase.
As for the Takaful 1 programme, targeting underprivileged families, 35,000 families out of the 274,985 applicants will benefit from the programme. The fund will consider the applications according to 57 indicators to determine the families in need to benefit from the government support programmes.
