AMMAN — The National Aid Fund (NAF) on Wednesday said that beneficiaries of the "Takaful 2" programme, designated for supporting daily wage workers, will receive cash assistance for a three-month period.
NAF Director General Omar Mashaqbeh said that the government has approved the "Takaful 2" cash assistance programme for three months, while the families benefitting from the programme have received the cash assistance for the first phase.
The second payment will be transferred next Sunday, while the third will be transferred in early July, he added.
The total cost of the second phase of the "Takaful 2" programme amounts JD29 million, of which JD10 million was allocated by the government and JD19 million by the Himmat Watan Fund, Mashaqbeh said.
Families consisting of three members received JD136, two-member families received JD70 and single-member families received JD50, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Mashaqbeh also invited families who wish to benefit from the "Takaful 2" programme to visit the website: https://reg.takmeely.jo. Complaints can also be submitted through the website.
The government had decided to increase the number of families benefitting from "Takaful 2" to 250,000 families, he said, noting that about 230,000 families have benefitted from the programme so far, while the remaining 20,000 families will be announced during the upcoming period.
