AMMAN — The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has taken preventive measures to avert the “collapse” of Mahmoud Anasweh Street in Abdoun, where the side of the road has been dug for a building under construction, an official said Sunday.
The street was closed in coordination with the Central Traffic Department, and the construction area was secured with asphalt blocks and warning signs to ensure public safety, according to the deputy director of the municipality’s public works, Yasser Atiyyat.
He added that a cold asphalt mix was poured to prevent water flow to the partially collapsed road, noting that the municipality will take measures against the owner of the building under construction for not taking safety precautions.
