ACC, Maltese ambassador discuss trade ties

AMMAN — Chairman of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) Khalil Al Haj Tawfiq and non-resident Maltese Ambassador to Jordan Raymond Sarsero have discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation and expand trade exchange between the two countries.
Haj Tawfiq stressed the need for enhanced cooperation between business owners, especially in promising sectors, noting that the tourism sector as the most important area contributing to boosting bilateral economic relations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Tuesday.
The ACC chairman also called for cooperation in the food sector, noting that some 85 per cent of the Kingdom's food needs are imported. Sarsero stressed the “distinguished” political ties between Malta and Jordan, highlighting the need to enhance trade relations with the Kingdom.
