Afghan embassy marks national day

AMMAN — The Afghan embassy in Amman on Tuesday held a reception on the occasion of Afghanistan’s national day.
Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Shahahdeh attended the ceremony on behalf of the government and described the Jordanian-Afghan relations as “solid”, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Shahahdeh commended the embassy’s role in opening new scopes of cooperation, referring to the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army’s participation in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
For his part, Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Jordan Tariq Shah Bahrami highlighted the important role of the Jordan military field hospital in Afghanistan between 2006 and 2013 in providing medical assistance to military personnel and civilians in his country.
