Agriculture Ministry meeting discusses Jordan’s livestock exports to Saudi Arabia

AMMAN — A meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, bringing together Minister of Agriculture Khalid Hneifat, Minister of Water and Irrigation Mohammad Al Najjar, Environment Minister Muawieh Radaideh and Saudi Minister of Water, Agriculture and Environment, Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al Fadhli.
During the meeting, Hneifat said that an agreement had been reached with the Saudi side to send a technical delegation from the Saudi government to Jordan.
The delegation will assess the current epidemiological situation within the next 48 hours, and decisions related to the export of Jordanian livestock to Saudi Arabia prior to Eid Al Adha will be made based on the delegation’s findings, he said.
He also highlighted a memorandum of understanding between the two nations, which aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise in rainwater harvesting and technological advancements in this arena, the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The Saudi minister reaffirmed the "deep-rooted" Saudi-Jordanian relations and stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation to serve both nations.
