Army chief holds talks with Saudi officials

AMMAN — The King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben met on Wednesday with Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud, Saudi Arabia's deputy crown prince, second deputy prime minister and minister of defence.
At the meeting, Zaben conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, to Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, crown prince and deputy crown prince, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, said.
The two sides stressed the solid relations between the two countries and their commitment to boosting them. The meeting was also attended by Saudi Arabia's Chief-of-Staff Gen. Abdulrahman Bin Saleh Al Banyan.
They reviewed aspects of cooperation and coordination between the two countries on various issues of joint concern, especially in the military field, as well as expertise exchange between the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and the Saudi army.
Jordan is part of the Saudi-led coalition backing the legitimate government in Yemen after Iran-backed rebels took over control of key areas.
Zaben and his hosts also discussed the challenges facing the region and confronting terrorist gangs as well as international efforts to combat them.
The meeting was attended by senior officials and officers of the two countries.
