Army chief promoted to lieutenant general

AMMAN — A Royal Decree was issued on Sunday, promoting Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff, to the rank of lieutenant general, as of November 14, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Sunday.
Also on Sunday, Freihat met with Commander of the Emirati National Defence College Brig. Gen. Hamad Niadi to discuss military cooperation, Petra added.
