Army chief visits First Royal Border Guards Battalion

AMMAN — Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti on Sunday stressed the keenness of the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) to provide all necessary support and equipment to Border Guards in a way that enhances their abilities in combating infiltration and smuggling attempts.

Huneiti made the remarks during a visit to the First Royal Border Guards Battalion, one of the units of the First Border Guards Brigade of the East Military Zone, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The army chief listened to briefings by commanders of the zone and battalion on their operational, training and logistical efforts in their zones and future plans.  He also met with personnel of the two units and conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of JAF, praising the "distinguished" level and high morale they enjoy and their big efforts exerted in various locations.
