Authorities foils drug smuggling attempt

AMMAN — Border Guard units with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF)’s Eastern Military Zone, in cooperation with military security personnel and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of narcotics on Tuesday, according to an official statement.
The joint force seized 170 palm-sized sheets of hashish, 20,000 Captagon pills and 5,000 Tramadol pills that were all transferred to relevant institutions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
