Cabinet briefed on progress of ‘integrity projects’

AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday reviewed the Ministry of Public Sector Development’s report on the progress of projects under the Executive Plan to implement the National Integrity Charter until the end of the last quarter of 2014.

These projects are being implemented by ministries and government departments, and institutions.  

At the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour stressed the importance of speeding up government projects under the plan to boost integrity, transparency, justice and equal opportunities.

Public Sector Development Minister Khleef Al Khawaldeh said 33 out of 104 projects had been implemented up to the end of 2014, while 62 are proceeding in accordance with the time frame outlined in the plan. 

Also during Wednesday’s meeting, the Cabinet approved an amended by-law on regulating and managing the Chief Islamic Justice Department. 

The Council of Ministers also approved an amended draft administrative by-law on regulating the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).  

Under the by-law, a planning, coordination and follow up committee was formed at
ASEZA to examine its plans and activities. 

It will also examine the annual draft budget, employment and regulations pertaining to ASEZA’s work.
