AMMAN — Father Rifat Bader, the director of the Catholic Centre for Studies, on Wednesday said Christmas celebrations this year are limited to religious rituals.
Speaking at the lighting of the “National Christmas Unity Tree”, Bader said the tree features pictures of the security personnel who were killed in the line of duty during Karak’s terror attack and the Canadian national who was also killed, in a sign of national unity against terrorism.
Four terrorists were killed in a security operation in the southern governorate of Karak on Sunday after 10 security personnel and civilians were killed. On Tuesday, four security personnel were killed in a raid on a house where terrorists were hiding in Karak. One suspect was killed, and another was arrested.
