CPF signs agreement with NDI, USAID to implement ‘I Participate’ programme for university students

AMMAN — The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) on Monday signed an agreement with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement the "I Participate" sustainability programme.
The programme aims to build the abilities and skills of university students in the fields of social work and youth empowerment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The agreement falls under a memorandum of understanding that was signed in August 2019 between the three organisations in the presence of HRH Crown Prince Hussein.
It stipulates the adoption and implementation of the "I Participate" programmeby the CPF with the support of USAID.
It also stipulates joint work to provide training opportunities for youth in order to enhance their knowledge and participation in the field of social work and the “basics of dialogue”.
"We have been preparing for this partnership since 2019”, CPF CEO Tamam Mango said. “Through it we aim to develop the capabilities and skills of young people in universities through a clearly defined strategic plan, in a comprehensive and sustainable manner."
"We will work in cooperation with our business partners to involve young people in a number of programmes and initiatives that enhance their concept of citizenship and give them skills and practical tools to lead many dialogues," she said.
The “I participate” programme has been implemented by the NDI on 24 campuses since 2012, engaging more than 35,000 participants since its launch.
The programme’s training focuses on the axes of democracy, tolerance, political participation and positive communication, Petra reported.
