AMMAN — The Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) on Wednesday announced the conclusion of the "I participate" programme, which was implemented over three years in partnership with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
The ceremony, held by the CPF, featured the participation of representatives from the NDI, USAID and partner universities, as well as a number of young men and women who benefited from the programme, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
The "I participate" programme is a non-curricular programme that was implemented in 13 universities and colleges. Participants received intensive training to enhance democratic concepts and values, and were provided with the necessary knowledge to help them engage in political work, decision-making and citizenship development.
The programme also included interactive dialogue sessions that promoted the basic principles of democracy, human rights, political parties, elections and the role of the media. According to a press statement released by the foundation, more than 17,000 participants were trained through the programme over the past three years.
