Drug smuggling operation on Syrian border ‘thwarted’ by JAF, AND

AMMAN — Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)–Arab Army in cooperation with Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) on Tuesday thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs on the Jordanian-Syrian borders, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
A military source said that rules of engagement were applied after detecting a vehicle approaching Jordanian territory, and forcing it head back northwards into Syria.
The source added that after searching the area, 497,705 bags of Captagon pills were seized and transferred to the concerned authority.
