Epidemiology centre chief meets US CDC regional director

AMMAN — Head of the National Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Centre Raeda Qutob on Tuesday met with Deputy Regional Director of the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention Middle East and North Africa Office Rachel Nelson.
During the meeting, attended by Secretary-General of the National Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Centre Muhammad Yahya and the directors of relevant authorities, the two sides discussed bolstering national and regional cooperation in the coming period, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
They also focused on supporting Jordan’s health monitoring and health data systems.
Talks also covered the measures necessary to prevent the spread and limit the effects of epidemics, pandemics and communicable diseases.
The two sides agreed to work together to enhance public health and prevent the outbreak of pandemics, epidemics and communicable diseases and confront them locally, regionally and internationally.
