AMMAN — The EU-funded “Technical Assistance to the Skills for Employment and Social Inclusion Programme for Jordan” hosted a capacity-building workshop for 25 institutions on Wednesday.
The workshop, implemented by an association led by the German International Cooperation Agency, aimed to discuss and agree on a framework for monitoring and evaluation, which could be adopted by the participating institutions, according to a joint statement.
Monitoring and evaluation frameworks provide crucial answers on whether results have been achieved by institutions, the statement added, saying the results would be used as a road map for future policy making recommendations and implementation.
The workshop taught participants methods of data gathering they could use for a set of 22 key performance indicators the participants previously selected. The workshop also reviewed the effects of information technology on monitoring and evaluation.
The assistance programme is meant to provide capacity-training support for ministries and institutions participating in the employment, technical and vocational education training (E-TVET) strategy, the statement said.
The capacity training aims to improve E-TVET members’ overall performance and ability to conform to guidelines of the strategy. The statement added that the project is part of a 52-million-euro budget support programme to Jordan.
