FM visits Jordan’s field hospital in Turkey’s Kahramanmaras

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Thursday visited the Jordanian Military Field Hospital in Kahramanmaras, Turkey, where he conveyed His Majesty King Abdullah's greetings to officials and expressed his pride in the staff's vital humanitarian role in supporting the Turkish people affected by the recent earthquake.

During a tour of the hospital, Safadi was acquainted with the hospital's operations and services that have been provided to the Turkish people in the aftermath of the earthquake, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The hospital's medical team of 110 professionals includes doctors, nurses, technical and administrative staff. The hospital also contains various facilities for radiology and sanitation, as well as outpatient clinics, operating rooms, a laboratory and an intensive care unit.

Rami Al Quroom, a neurosurgery consultant and the hospital's director, briefed Safadi on the hospital's services and the support that have been provided to the Turkish medical staff, overburdened after the earthquake.

Safadi reiterated Jordan's commitment to providing all necessary support and assistance to Turkish people during this challenging time, and noted that the hospital's establishment aligns with Royal directives. The foreign minister emphasised the importance of standing by the Turkish people and providing humanitarian services and medical treatment during these difficult conditions.

A large number of injured people were seen receiving treatment at the hospital, who expressed their appreciation for Jordan's humanitarian gesture, Petra added.
