Foreign minister discusses Gaza crisis with Belgian, Albanian counterparts

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Tuesday received a phone call from Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib.
Safadi and Lahbib discussed ways to end the dire situation in Gaza, which has been severely exacerbated by the ongoing Israeli aggression, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Both top diplomats stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the access of aid throughout the war-torn Gaza Strip.
Safadi and his Belgian counterpart, whose country currently holds the EU Presidency, also discussed efforts to prevent a broader Israeli assault on Rafah.
Also on Tuesday, Safadi and Albanian Foreign Minister Igli Hasani discussed the catastrophic situation in Gaza. The conversation, over the phone, also covered efforts to facilitate a ceasefire and ensure the provision of humanitarian aid into the besieged Strip.
