Safadi, Belgian foreign minister discuss efforts to halt Israeli war on Gaza

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Sunday discussed, in Brussels, with the Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib the developments in Gaza and the efforts made to halt the Israeli war and ensure the protection of civilians.
Safadi also emphasised the need for Israel to comply with the humanitarian law and the international consensus, calling for an end to the war, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also stressed the importance of ensuring the delivery of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to all parts of the besieged strip.
Also on Sunday Safadi held talks in Brussels with Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, addressing the developments in Gaza and the efforts to halt the war.
He emphasised the need to intensify efforts to mobilise an effective international stance to quell the raging war in Gaza and its catastrophic consequences and avert further escalation.
Safadi also reiterated that a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution is the only way to protect the region from the escalation of conflict, ensuring security and peace for Palestinians, Israelis, and the entire region.
