AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry is following up on the death of two Jordanians in Egypt and Turkey, the head of the Foreign Ministry’s operations centre, Sufian Qudah, said on Wednesday.
In a Foreign Ministry statement, Qudah added that the Kingdom’s embassies in Ankara and Cairo, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, are following up on the circumstances surrounding both deaths.
The primary reports show that a 57-year-old Jordanian, residing in Egypt, has died of a stroke, while a 69-year-old Jordanian woman who was on a visit to Istanbul has suffered a cardiac arrest, the statement added.
The Jordanian consulate in Istanbul and the ministry’s operations department have taken the necessary measures to transport the body of the deceased to the Kingdom, according to Qudah.
The body of the man who died in Egypt will be buried in Cairo, upon his family’s request, he added. Qudah expressed his deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims’ families.
