AMMAN — Jordanians constitute 27 per cent of technical entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa, who have proven their excellence at the local, Arab and international levels, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Hanandeh said on Thursday.
Receiving a delegation from the UAE National Defence College (NDC), Hanandeh said that Jordan is a leading country in the entrepreneurship and innovation field in the region, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He added that the Jordanian-Emirati bilateral relations represent "a model at the pan-Arab level", seen in the two governments' "strategic" cooperation in various fields, which reflects the extent of Jordan's "strong" relations with the UAE.
The minister also stressed the importance of strengthening the Jordanian-UAE partnership through a number of initiatives and projects in the digital economy, creativity and innovation fields.
The minister also pointed to a number of initiatives that reflect the "close" partnership, such as the One Million Arab Coders and the Crown Prince Award for Best Government Service Application.
Jordan's ICT sector is characterised by "high" growth potential, the availability of skilled human resources, secure infrastructure, and supporting laws and incentives, he noted.
The Kingdom has also exported "successful pioneering" projects at the regional and global levels, which have achieved "remarkable" successes and were acquired by a number of international companies, according to Hanandeh.
