AMMAN — Minister of Health Saad Jaber on Tuesday checked on the readiness of thermal scanners installed at Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) as part of the “strict measures implemented by the ministry to prevent coronavirus entering into the Kingdom”, according to a statement.

The ministry has placed thermal scanners at all land, air and sea crossings around the Kingdom. Seven fixed thermal scanners, two of which are placed at the Queen Alia International Airport, are being operated by specialised medical teams deployed by the ministry.

“Both preventive and curative measures are within the global protocol enforced by the World Health Organisation at all border locations,” the minister was quoted in the statement as saying.

Jaber also visited the Health Tourism and Recovery Bureau during his tour of the health facilities at QAIA, accompanied by Director of Medical Tourism Suleiman Ammarin.

The minister highlighted the “important role that the Medical Tourism Office plays in providing awareness for tourists visiting the Kingdom, familiarising them with medical facilities and answering any enquiries related to health affairs”.

“Jordan is attempting to simplify the procedures for patients who come to the Kingdom for medical reasons by promoting advanced treatments, facilities and doctors in the health sector locally, regionally and internationally,” the minister said.
