House speaker meets Algeria, Bangladesh ambassadors

AMMAN — Lower House Speaker Abdulkarim Dughmi  on Sunday met with Algeria’s Ambassador to Jordan Mohamed Sherif Kourta and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Jordan Nahida Subhan and discussed means to boost bilateral cooperation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. 

In his meeting with the Algerian Ambassador, Dughmi received an invitation from the Speaker of the Algerian Council of the Nation Salah Goudjil and Speaker of the Algerian National People's Assembly Brahim Boughali to attend the 17th session Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to be held in Algeria mid-September. 

Dughmi stressed the “solid” Jordanian-Algerian ties and their common stances, especially towards the Palestinian cause and the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. 

During his meeting with Subhan, Dughmi expressed Jordan's appreciation of Bangladesh's positions towards Arab issues. 

Subhan referred to historical relations between the countries, stressing that Bangladesh stands with the Palestinian cause and Arab issues, reaffirming support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
