AMMAN — The ICT Association of Jordan (int@j), in cooperation with the Internet Society in the Arab World, has conducted three workshops on blockchain technology, an int@j statement said on Monday.
Held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Jordan’s (CBJ) Governor Ziad Fariz, the workshops targeted the society’s members and entrepreneurs who were introduced to blockchain, which is a technology for storing and validating transactions through the internet.
int@j Chairman Bashar Hawamdeh said that the association is keen on inviting experts in the field to share their expertise with the society’s members and sector representatives, voicing his thanks to the CBJ for their continued support to entrepreneurship and financial technology in the Kingdom.
For his part, Fariz said entrepreneurship in Jordan “has gained unusual momentum”, stressing that cryptocurrency is still a debatable issue in the world.
Regional Director of the Internet Society in the Arab World Salam Yamout noted that blockchain is the key to future digital and economic technologies.
