Investment minister meets members of Jordan Chamber of Industry

AMMAN — Investment Minister Khairy Amr on Tuesday stressed that the industrial sector recognises an increasing importance in the national economy and in improving development processes.
During a meeting with Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Industry Fathi Jaghbir and members of the chamber, Amr stressed that the government aims to overcome challenges and offer support and facilities to all investment sectors, according to a ministry statement.
The minister also stressed that the new investment law will be “developed and competitive, in accordance with the best international practices”.
Jaghbir stressed the importance of the national industry and its main role in the national economy, given it accounts for 80 per cent of the Kingdom’s total investments over the past decade and 93 per cent of the national exports, and it employs around 20 per cent of the Kingdom's workforce.
