Israel arrests Jordanian woman ‘carrying gun’ at border

AMMAN — The government said on Sunday it is following up on Israel’s arrest of a Jordanian woman who allegedly carried a gun while crossing the King Hussein Bridge.
According to news reports, Israeli forces found a gun and two magazines hidden inside a box of dates while questioning the woman at the King Hussein Bridge.
The Foreign Ministry contacted the concerned Palestinian authorities to understand the circumstances of the arrest.
"The Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv has followed up on the issue with the concerned Palestinian authorities. It turned out that the woman was arrested and accused of bringing a weapon into Israel," the ministry's spokesperson, Sabah Al Rafie, told The Jordan Times.
