JEDCO chief, EU ambassador discuss cooperation

AMMAN — Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO) CEO Abdulfattah Kayed and EU Ambassador to the Kingdom Maria Hadjitheodosiou on Wednesday discussed means to enhance cooperation between the two sides.

Kayed reviewed JEDCO’s programmes intended to serve various economic sectors, stressing the importance of cooperation with the EU, mainly in entrepreneurship projects and SMEs, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The CEO stressed that JEDCO seeks to realise the vision of the Public Sector Modernisation Committee by making the corporation an official supporter of SMEs, noting that JEDCO’s strategy for the coming three years aims to offer financial and technical aid to SMEs.

Hadjitheodosiou commended JEDCO’s role in supporting SMEs and enabling them to serve the Jordanian economy, adding that the EU supports the Economic Modernisation Vision. She added that Jordan has great potential to attract investments that can positively contribute to realising economic growth and improving exports.
