AMMAN — The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) on Sunday dispatched a new humanitarian convoy consisting of 70 trucks to the north of Gaza.

In a statement sent to The Jordan Times, JHCO said that the convoy was sent in cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP) and supported by several organisations, companies and institutions including Islamic Relief Worldwide, and Kuwait Society for Relief, among many others.

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said that the convoy carries basic food supplies and parcels, medical supplies and medicines, noting that aid packages are to be distributed through local partner associations and organisations based in the north of the besieged Strip.

Shibli added that “Jordanian efforts are ongoing and are focused on ensuring the entrance of humanitarian relief aimed to reduce and stop the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza”.

Shibli noted that the total number of trucks that entered Gaza including this convoy, reached 2110 trucks, while 53 airplanes carrying aid landed at Egypt’s Arish airport.

Shibli highlighted that the JHCO is exerting relentless efforts to deliver food items into the Strip to face and prevent a possible famine in Gaza and ease the immense hardships and suffering facing its people.

The JHCO said it continues to receive cash donations through its bank account at Bank Al Etihad, account number
