AMMAN — The Foreign Ministry on Saturday expressed its deepest condolences to the government and people of Pakistan over the victims of floods that hit several areas in the country and caused severe material damage.
Ministry Spokesperson Haitham Abul Foul expressed the Kingdom's solidarity with Pakistan, expressing condolences to the victims' families and wishing the injured a speedy recovery, according to a ministry statement.
Under the prevailing weather conditions in Pakistan, Abul Foul called on Jordanians residing in areas witnessing heavy rainfall to exercise caution and adhere to the safety instructions issued by the relevant Pakistani authorities.
Abul Foul also urged Jordanians who need help in an emergency situation to call the emergency number of the Jordanian embassy in Islamabad, reachable at 0092512833310, or the operations room of ministry headquarters at 00962795497777.
Over the past two days, the embassy in Islamabad, in coordination with the Foreign Ministry, has evacuated a Jordanian student and several Palestinian students from the Sindh region to a safe area in Karachi in cooperation with the honorary Jordanian consulate in Karachi.
The embassy remains in constant contact with Jordanians in Pakistan to check on their conditions and to ensure that they are all safe, the statement added.
