Jordan-Japan trade increased to JD 309m in 2022

AMMAN —The value of goods traded between Jordan and Japan reached JD309 million last year, up from around JD279 million in 2021, according to statistical data cited by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Friday. National exports to Japan surged to about JD62 million during the past year, up from around JD23 million in 2021.
However, the Kingdom's imports from Japan declined to around JD247 million last year, compared with around JD256 million in 2021.
The Kingdom's trade deficit with Japan went down to about JD185 million last year, compared to around JD233 million in 2021. In January 2023, national exports to Japan reached around JD3 million, down from around JD4 million for the same period last year.
The value of the Kingdom's imports from Japan during January 2023 was approximately JD24 million, against some JD25 million for the same period last year. The volume of trade between the two countries in January 2023 stood at approximately JD27 million, compared to JD29 million for the same period last year.
