Jordanian delegation visits Greece over cooperation in food safety

AMMAN — Director General of the Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) Nizar Mheidat on Monday headed an official delegation to Greece to exchange expertise in regard to food traceability and classification of food establishments, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During a visit to the Greek Ministry of Industry, the delegation was briefed on the Greek experience in controlling and inspecting food safety. Mheidat affirmed JFDA’s keenness to strengthen coordination and cooperation with relevant authorities in Greece in areas of mutual interest.
The Greek side lauded JFDA’s efforts and its quest to keep pace with the latest scientific and global developments related to ensuring food safety and drug efficacy, stressing the continuation of cooperation through the Jordanian Foreign Ministry.
The Jordanian delegation consisted of government officials, of which represented the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, the JFDA and the private sector representatives.
