AMMAN — Thousands of Jordanians took to the streets across the country on Friday in solidarity with Palestinians.
Protesters chanted slogans calling for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip that left thousands of people killed and wounded, denouncing the double standards of the international community towards the Palestinian people and their legitimate cause, the Jordan News, Petra, reported.
During a rally in downtown Amman, demonstrators condemned the international community’s silence on the ongoing massacres in Gaza and denounced the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the besieged strip.
Protesters called on the Arab and Islamic nations to take urgent and immediate action to stop the aggression, and support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights.
They hailed the position of South Africa in submitting a lawsuit to the International Court of Justice against Israeli crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Protests took place following the Friday prayer from the Hashemite Mosque in Irbid, the Grand Husseini Mosque in downtown Amman and in Karak.
Other demonstrations took place in different governorates, including Tafileh, Maan and Aqaba, calling for an end to the Israeli war on Gaza and opening humanitarian corridors to send fuel and aid assistance into Gaza, Petra reported.
