King, Putin discuss region over phone

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday discussed during a telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin bilateral relations and the latest regional and international developments.
Discussions also tackled the international anti-terror campaign with the two leaders insisting on intensifying efforts to combat radical ideology on the basis of a comprehensive strategy that seeks to safeguard the world's security and stability, according to a Royal Court statement.
The two leaders also stressed the importance of reviving peace negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis on the basis of the two-state solution and finding a comprehensive political solution to the Syrian crisis.
His Majesty and Putin voiced keenness on enhancing Jordanian-Russian relations in all fields, the statement said.
