AMMAN — CEO of the Jordan Free and Development Zones Group Hamzeh Haj Hassan on Tuesday said that a confined landslide that took place at the Dead Sea corniche project was due to the nature of the soil.
Hassan added that the soil is considered one of the most difficult kinds to deal with in terms of construction and treatment, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The landslide was confined to an area of the Dead Sea’s Sweimeh Bay and expanding over a space of almost two dunums out of 335 dunums, Haj Hassan said, stressing that the project was under construction and citizens are not allowed to enter it.
