Man crushed to death by elevator

AMMAN — A man on Saturday was crushed to death when an elevator fell on him from the third floor while he was conducting maintenance work in a four-storey building in Abdali, according to a Civil Defence Department (CDD) statement.
CDD personnel retrieved the body and moved it to Al Bashir Hospital. Meanwhile, Irbid CDD extinguished a fire that erupted in a 60-square-metre house, without registering any injuries, according to another CDD statement, which added that an investigation is under way to identify the cause of the fire.
