AMMAN — Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and the Embassy of the Netherlands on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a flowers bourse, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The memorandum stipulates the establishment of a new bourse located on the Airport Road. The bourse’s location will facilitate transportation and exportation, which will help Jordan become a regional flower producer, according to Petra.
Also on Wednesday, GAM signed an agreement with the Jordanian Association for Cut and Ornamental Plants (JACOP) to establish their roles and missions in the project. Four Dutch experts are scheduled to visit the Kingdom by the end of March to meet with concerned officials in GAM, JACOP and the agriculture ministry.
