AMMAN — Minister of Culture Haifa Najjar and Canada's Ambassador to Jordan Donica Pottie on Tuesday discussed means of advancing cultural exchange between the countries.
According to a ministry statement, Najjar highlighted the similarities between the two nations, noting that “Jordan is open to learning about different cultures,” according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
She also extended an invitation to the Canadian envoy to take part in the celebrations in Irbid, as the Arab capital of culture. Jordan is a “safe haven” for refugees from neighbouring countries, sharing its resources of education, health and culture to ensure a decent life, while preserving citizens’ rights guaranteed by the Constitution, she said.
The diplomat lauded the Jordanian-Canadian relations in various fields, emphasising the need to improve bilateral cultural relations.
