AMMAN — Thousands of the National Charter Party members after Friday prayers took part in a sit-in in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to halt the "brutal" war against Palestinians, specifically the genocide in Gaza that is targeting innocent civilians, including women and children.
Mohammed Al Momani, Secretary General of the party, highlighted the efforts of Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, to halt the "brutal" war against Palestinians, stressing that Jordan has supported and provided assistance to Palestinians in the face of violence and destruction by Israel.
Jordan will not tolerate any violation of its borders and will remain firm against such attempt, Momani stressed, according to a party statement.
During the rally, which was called for by the party near to Al Kalouti Mosque, the participants chanted slogans such as "We are one people, not two". The crowd also expressed unity with chants of "Long live Jordan, long live Gaza Hashem" and declared their opposition to the displacement of their Palestinians.
The National Charter Party intends to continue organising solidarity sit-ins in support of Palestinians from all regions of Jordan, the statement read.
