AMMAN — The National Centre for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) and the UNDP, Amman office, on Tuesday signed a cooperation agreement to develop national capabilities on disaster risk reduction.
NCSCM Deputy Director Brig. Gen Adnan Abadi and UNDP Country Director Sara Ferrer Olivella signed the agreement that aims at exchanging expertise and implementing joint courses, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
His Majesty King Abdullah in January, 2008, entrusted HRH Prince Ali with the establishment of the NCSCM.
In a letter to the Prince, at that time, the King said the centre, which he described as a “national necessity”, should function within a national framework to coordinate and unify efforts and capabilities to confront and manage any form of crisis the Kingdom might face, in addition to undertaking necessary crisis planning.
