Prince Ghazi attends signing of anti-extremism agreement

AMMAN — HRH Prince Ghazi, the King’s special Adviser for religious and cultural affairs and the personal envoy of His Majesty King Abdullah, on Monday attended the signing of an agreement at the Educational Foundation and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that seeks to implement a project for the prevention of extremism and hate speech, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The agreement was supported by the Japanese government, according to a UNDP statement. Prince Ghazi expressed his appreciation to UNDP and the Japanese government for their support to Jordan.
Director of UNDP Jordan Office Sara Ferrer Olivella stressed that the agreement comes within the framework of the project to combat extremist ideology launched in early 2016 in cooperation with the Jordanian government. For his part, Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Shuichi Sakurai affirmed Japan’s keenness to continue supporting Jordan in various fields.
