NEC recommends COVID vaccine for children 5-11 years old

AMMAN — The National Epidemiological Committee (NEC) on Tuesday recommended COVID-19 vaccines for children between the ages of 5 and 11, without making it mandatory. The committee also recommended a third booster jab for adults.
The NEC also called for conducting a COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours for public transport and cross-border drivers, provided that the test is conducted in the Kingdom.
In press remarks to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Wednesday, Adviser at the Prime Ministry for Health Affairs Adel Balbisi, who is a member in the NEC, said that the recommendation related to taking a booster shoot three months after the second dose “protects against the Omicron variant”.
