Pakistan president receives Fayez in Islamabad

AMMAN — Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday received Senate President Faisal Fayez, who conveyed to him His Majesty King Abdullah’s greetings and wishes for more progress and prosperity for Pakistan and the Pakistani people, according to a Royal Court statement.

Fayez made the official visit to Pakistan under an invitation from Pakistani Chairman of the Senate Mian Raza Rabbani, during which Hussain delivered his greetings to King Abdullah, commending the diplomatic ties and voicing understanding of the challenges facing Jordan in light of current issues in the region.

For his part, Fayez voiced the Kingdom’s interest in strengthening relations and joint cooperation, presenting Jordan’s stances towards various regional issues, especially the Palestinian cause, the Syrian crisis and efforts to combat terrorism.
