PM mourns passing of former Awqaf minister Abbadi

AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Monday mourned the passing of former Awqaf minister Abdul Salam Abbadi who died in Saudi Arabia. The premier also extended his condolences to the Abbadi family, paying tribute to the former minister's "great efforts" in serving his country, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Abbadi, born in Amman in 1943, was minister of Awqaf in more than one government. He obtained a PhD in Comparative Fiqh from Al Azhar University. He was also an award-winning author and researcher.
Also on Monday, Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh expressed condolences to the Abbadi family, recalling his contributions to the nation, Petra added.
