Police chief reviews security measures ahead of Christmas

AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Maaytah on Thursday conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army, (JAF) to the Public Security Directorate's personnel, expressing his pride in their efforts towards realising national security.
During a security meeting with high-ranking officers, Maaytah issued directives to start implementing security and traffic procedures that coincide with Christmas celebrations in order to enhance security and ensure the smooth flow of traffic around churches, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He also emphasised the need to continue providing security and humanitarian services, especially during the winter, and attached importance to taking necessary measures in coordination with the Ministry of Education to ensure the security and safety of the General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) session.
Maaytah, during the meeting, was briefed on the security plans regarding the various duties and actions of the PSD's various formations and its operational and administrative units.
