AMMAN — Lower House Deputy Speaker Ahmad Safadi on Monday said reviewing the draft domestic violence law is a courageous and advanced step that complements the country’s reform drive.
At a workshop organised by the National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA) to discuss the bill, Safadi stressed the importance of avoiding any loopholes.
NCFA Secretary General Fadel Hmoud said the proposed amendments will be discussed and drafted in a manner that adheres to Sharia (Islamic law), the Constitution and international accords to arrive at a modern law that ensures family protection.
