SDC announces JD7.6 billion registered securities with JD19.7 billion market capitalisation in 2023

AMMAN — The Securities Depository Centre (SDC) on Tuesday announced that there are 7.6 billion securities registered at the centre, representing a combined market capitalisation of JD19.7 billion in 2023. The center noted that domestic holdings by Jordanians accounted for some JD5.1 billion of these securities, with a value of JD10.9 billion, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. In contrast, the aggregate holdings of the top 10 foreign nationalities comprised about 1.7 billion securities, with an estimated market value of JD7 billion. Among non-Jordanian investors, Saudi Arabia topped shareholders, holding some 432 million securities, accounting for a total investment value of some JD1.135 billion, SDC added.
