Seminar held on smart agriculture

AMMAN — The Japanese embassy in Amman, in coordination with the Hashemite University, on Monday organised a seminar titled “Smart Agriculture Featuring Human-Machine Cooperation: Development and Implementation of Robot”.
Katahira Mitsuhiko, professor at Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Food, Life, and Environmental Sciences at Yamagata University, joined the seminar remotely from Japan, according to a Japanese embassy statement. During the seminar, Katahira introduced the concept of smart agriculture and examples of utilising modern technology in the field of agriculture in Japan.
Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Okuyama Jiro expressed his gratitude to the Hashemite University for its cooperation in holding the seminar on the integration between one of the fundamental issues of the human being, agriculture, and the state-of-the-art technology. Hashemite University President Fawwaz Al Abed Al Haq stressed that applying smart technology in agriculture is a key to alleviate the economic risk in Jordan.
